6/15/14     Stones and discus

Open Stone: Threw a bunch... fixed some things. Once I got going I was able to stick a few in a row between 46'-49' Keeping my head up makes a world of difference for me... no shit right?

Discus: 16ish throws for the heck of it... still as mediocre as I ever was.

Seems like a good day man! Is that Dead a PR? Same with the 315 PP?

I hope you can find a way to turn pro as you have been ready since before I started highland games haha.

Also, for fatty visualizations, what is a monster burger? It sounds divine.

Jeff, I'm pretty sure that is a PR for deads now that I think about it...sweet! The PP was about 20lbs shy of a PR though.

As far as Pro-ing... I think this will be my last full season as an Am. I've just got to get stuff all lined up for next year and then go for it.

Monster Burger is a double bacon cheese thick burger from your local Hardees/Carls Jr (depending on where you live) It comes with no veggies, only mayo (which is yucky and thus left off of my food) For my money it's the best fast food burger out there. And Hardees is a few blocks from the gym + open 24hrs. Best enjoyed w/ the bacon cheddar fries when they are in season. Chocolate Malt is also a staple.

I need to convince you of the merits of both mayo AND top-down deadlifts (which are the touchandgoiest of all of the deadlifts).

I have a food boner. We don't have a Hardee's or Carl's Jr. in New England so I am ready to go look for one right now.

Hope to see you around next year man!

Jeff, New England sounds like a terrible place... unless of course you have Popeye's Chicken, that might make up for it. We have to jump the IL border for that tastey treat.

Josh, I'm down with top down deadlifts... just haven't done them yet. Mayo however, continues to be super yucky. Did you know that it is made from milk spit?

Catching up on stuff...

7-25-14      Speedy Bench

Bench w/ slow tempo down and much explosion up: 135x10, 225x10, 275x5, 315x3, 315x3, 315x3, 315x3

Seated Pressy Machine: 5 Sets of 10 with lotsa zing

T-Bar Rows: 5 sets of 12 for pumps

7-28-14      Throws

Sheaf: 16 & 20 about 15 throws, mix of spin and stand. Figuring out new stuff and feeling goooooooood. Heights magical.

HWFD: 10ish throws... a few at 44' and a couple at 45' ***Threw off concrete in my rotational shot/disc shoes. This is by far the best I've ever thrown with this set up. Remembered about half way into practice that I like to push the weight around on my entry and from there it was gravy.

Played softball... slid and ripped up my knee skin... its deep and gooey... bending it sucks but I think its all superficial damage.

Went out to play trivia and eat cheese curds and chicken.

Throws tomorrow

Never fear Jeff and Luke, Maine to the rescue.  Exit 25 on I-95, Kennebunk, Popeye's chicken at the rest stop.   I always stop here for some chicken when I am coming home.
