Thank you!!

Just two weeks of hot yoga has done wonders. Even after four or five sessions, I threw last week and moved so much better. I think yoga would do just as well but I wanted to sweat the toxins (read: wine/scotch/beer) out and I'm using it for fat loss also. My experience has been that you could get away with doing yoga once a week or so here and there to loosen up (which is better than nothing) but the hot yoga needs a 4 week or so commitment or else it's just hot and miserable...plus yoga.

Oh, YES, you actually can bring a gallon of cold water in. Heh. I saw one girl bring in a Big Gulp cup of ice water in. Others bring in partly frozen water bottles because they heat up pretty quick. If you go, I'd recommend at least two frozen water bottles and an extra hand towel for the face.

Hope that was helpful. Thanks again!!

60 min. hot yoga.

It was hot, hot enough that even the instructor would go and fan the door a few times. Hot.

Snatch balance warm up

Snatch:
2x4@35, 40
2x2@45, 50
2x1@55, 60

Clean & Jerk:
2x2@45, 55
4x1@65, 70, 75, 80xx (missed the clean twice. Just tired.)

Getting registered today for the Dec. 6th meet. Will postpone off season training until after. I need a total of 85kg to qualify for Master's Nationals which are full but if I can keep an eye out for the Pan American Masters in June, I can hopefully register for that. According to past results, I'd do pretty well.

Snatch: Up to 5 on the minute at 45kg

PClean & Jerk: Up to 5 on the 90 second at 65 (last one at 70kg.)

Lifts feeling better. Clean feeling strong, need to find the right grip on my snatch to be able to squeeze up better and feel stronger off the floor. One more heavy day on Saturday and then meet week.

Work up to heavy snatch and clean&jerk.

Snatch:
50, 55, 60, 65x, 60, 63x, 63x, 60 PS

C&J:
70, 75, 80 (made it but jerk was a bit soft), 81x, 75x (no clean. Just tired, last two days caught up to me. Get variables in check and should be fine.)

jp

p.s. traps. Ouchie.

12/1

Snatch: up to 1@~80% (52kg and actually did two because my first one was too slow.)

C&J: same (1@68kg)

Squat: Up to 1@100kg

What I lacked in protein the past four days I made up in wine. Back on track and will feel fine in another day or two but tracking food and no wine until after the meet.

Also, kilts so much better than singlets.

12/6

Brew City Open

Snatch:
55, 60, 63x (just didn't finish. A women right behind the head judge was playing youtube really loud as I was setting up and I let it get to me. MyBad, need to be more focused but overall the snatch was fine.)

C&J: All power cleans. 74, 79, 82. Felt good, solid. Should have gone to 84 or 85 but was probably fine for my first meet in over 3 years. :)

Overall a fantastic day and a complete blast. This was the first meet thrown by this particular CF gym and they did absolutely fantastic. I think the last time I competed down in Texas I totaled around 119 or so and today I totaled 142. I'll take that as a win. I now have a qualifying total for Masters Pan Americans so need to get a handle on that registration.

Rest tomorrow and on to off season training Monday. 10x10 here we come!!!!

Thank you Tom! I can do better with some training hopefully. But I just found out that I need to qualify at a National level meet with other requirements to be able to register for the Pan Americans. I've reached out to Kevin Rogers for some more info on that. If anyone else has information on National level sanctioned meets with equipment being weighed and certified with two national national level referees, please direct me to info. It seems I'm racing the clock here to qualify before registrations go hot or I'm out.

Thanks again!!

Block 1: Week 2

Squat: 10x10
20, 30, 40, 50, 63, 63, 63, 63, 63, 60

Felt good today. My IT bands are getting some extra TLC but other than that these went much better than last week.

Press: 10x10
20, 25, 30, 32, 32, 32, 32, 25, 25

Also felt much better. My triceps waited until the final set to stop working as compared to the 6th set last week.

Overall much better than week 1.

Prowler Push (8 walks with 40kg)

**I'm passing on the DL/Bench day that is my usual Thursday. I took an end over end spill off a step ladder onto a table (so it broke my fall before I hit the floor, thanks for that) on Monday night and though hot yoga did wonders in loosening up my back, I'm still pretty tight. So I'll pass and just do some prowler walks since it's a balmy, snow free 26 degrees out.
