I will be participating for the first time in Belfast ME this year. Although the registration forms have not been sent yet (and this question may be answered there)...but, as a 'new gal', am I only participating in the women's class or do I enter the amateur class as a beginner...or both?

If there is only one women's class offered, that is the correct one for you. The Novice class will be for the men that are new to the games, and will use the men's weights.

Belfast is a small games, and there is only one women's class offered. Its a great games though, Sam Denson does a great job putting it on, and well there is not better view if you ask me. It will be nice to have a new lady to participate.

Well, I think Loon may possibly take it for view...but yes, Belfast is one of the best places to throw scenery wise. It has never NOT been sunny in the 3 years I have thrown there. I love those games...and it is the one game that Kaste or Waddell never show up to, so Tony and I have a chance to win. lol. To the original poster, you can contact Sam Denson here on NASGA. His is username "Denson". But he usually just does registration morning of, meaning you show up, given him the 10 or 20 bucks and throw. I am looking forward to actually not being in horrendous pain this year at Belfast! |

I'd do Belfast, but driving past Augusta gives me hives with pure Maine-induced anxiety.

Great...Belfast is my only ticket to ECCs. Granted, I would still have to beat TROB, but that is at least possible. If you show up... :) To top it off, Don Clark said he may do Belfast. Someone who could push you in stones here in NE... If he does Belfast, then we can convince Leroy to let him in the A's in Topsham. |
