Big!  Kinda figured that might happen there.

That 28 is a NA/US record if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks, everyone! Stewart opened my eyes to my weight flaw at ABQ and practice has been the best in my life by a long shot, but I never dreamed of being a 90 footer. God blessed this amazing day!

I would say the overall best performance number-wise in the history of the highland games. Congrats Dan!

Gordon DeWaal is the A.D. of the games and certifies each implement prior to start of games. I do not believe that Gordie posts on Nasga. As I was the judge, this is what I witnessed in the certification process after throws were taken.

All Hammer Handles are cut to just under 50" prior to inputting into hammers. Then certified once affixed, both were recertified after Dan's throws and both were under 50".

Light Hammer certified after the throw at 16.8#

Heavy Hammer certified after the throw at 22.1#

LWD chain 1/8 of an " under 18". Light weight certified at 28.00# after throwing. As it was 28.00 will be taken to post office for recertification. Throw of 94+' was on extra attempt. Weight was then taken off the field for certification, as it was at 28.00, no further throws were taken with it.

WOB for Dan Williams is the same set up as in years past. Certified after the throw as: WOB length is under 17" and it weighed in at 56.4#.

All heights and distances were certified by at least 2 judges, tapes pulled as tight as possible.

Hope this helps.

Nicely done Jeff and my congrats to Dan Williams, it's tough when your world record gets overshadowed by an otherworldly set of other throws...

Steve, appreciate the "nicely done", but I was just the judge and reporting the process.

The real "NICELY DONE" and Cudos definitely go to Gordon DeWaal. He, as any A.D. knows, works his guts out and leaves it all on the field. Puts on a quality game and shys away from thanks and the limelight.

And, what a performance by all athletes, especially the "Dan's Show".
