Yes, we're at it again.

We are raffling off a Landrich made "rhombodecahedron" 56 pound weight, donated by Duncan McCallum,  which can be used for Distance or for Weight Over Bar.  56 pound heavyweights typically sell for $150 dollars or more.  Take advantage of this raffle to get a shot at adding to your games inventory while supporting the Scottish Heavy Events in Texas.

Each $5 donation equals one entry into the raffle.  Yes, you can win a 56# heavyweight for only $5!

This is news to Mike Dickens. I didn't tell him I'd do this, but I'm in a good mood, so....

To sweeten the pot...If a Masters class athlete wins and wants a 42 instead, I'll have Dickens send me the 56 and I'll send a 42 in the color of your choice. If a woman wins and wants implements to throw, I'll have Mike ship me the 56 and I'll ship you a rhombicuboctahedron 14 and a sphere LH.

Get your entries in.

BTW  Full price on that implement is $200 +S&H, so $5 is a bargain

The chance to win a 56llb. for $5 was good enough reason for me pay up, but now it's even a better deal!

So, the question has been asked if the raffle will close once the goal is reached.

No.  The stated goal was the minimum we hoped to raise.  Clearly, we will accept as many donations as possible to help fund the organization and promote the games.

So, please, keep submitting donations and entering for you chance to win the implement!

Thank you for your support!!

I just paid for 2 entries in the raffle. That is an awesome implement! I will be able to enter the Masters comps next May. So I'll go with that option if I am lucky enough to win. Will definitely be checking back here to see who wins it.

If whoever wins it, and keeps the 56, is worried about the extra 7 ounces, I'll send you a d or teardrop handle that will get you down much closer to 56# even. The weight originally had a d handle when I shipped it to Duncan. He later got the stainless full ring that it now sports, but that added a few ounces

There are still 23 days left to get your entry in! Don't miss out on your chance to pick up a 56# Weight (or a 42, or a Ladies 14# and LH) for $5.

Here's another picture of the LPS 56 pounder.   That is a classic Bobby Dodd 56 next to it.  As you can see, the LPS is pretty compact for a 56.  Should fly farther, right?

I checked the raffle site and it says "finished." Does that mean someone won it already, or am I just jumping the gun?

****UPDATE****

We have ended the 56# Raffle a little early.  Apparently PayPal, which handles transactions for RallyMe, isn't comfortable handling funds associated with a raffle.  In some places a raffle is considered gambling.

Ironically, Rally Me didn't care at all.   LOL  They even stated that many of their members have done rallies.

So, we have shut down the rally on Rally Me.  But, if anyone is interested in submitting a last minute entry, PM me and we will make arrangements to make it happen.

The last day of the modified raffle will be Saturday, 27 Sep.  The drawing will be held on Sunday, 28 Sep.

Thank you all for your support!  The raffle has clearly been a huge success.  I'm looking forward to seeing someone win this weight.
