Yes, I've thrown with John before, he well and truly beat me in the LH from memory.
That's impressive for Colthart... not just the greatest Scottish Formula 1 race driver in history either?

Oceania Heavyweight Highland Games:
 1st Scott Martin, Aus.
2. Jono Macfarlane, NZ.
3= Moe Westmoreland and Jeremy Hogg, Aus.
 5. Reuben de Jong, NZ.
6. David Colthart, Scotland.
 7. John McLeod, Scotland.
 8. Tom Walsh, NZ.
9. Stephen Henry, Aus.
Cole Lemalu withdrew injured beforehand.

I think there was 3 points between me and Scott at the end, with Jeremy and Morgan around 6 back. Scott made a couple of clutch performances including separating from a 4 way tie at 33' in the sheaf, and was a deserving winner.
Was a great competition, with a decent standard of throwing. Only hiccup was the WOB snapping with 6 of us in at 14'.
4 New field records were set, with Colthart narrowly missing the hammer. Breaking the field record in the stone only got me 3rd behind Tom and Scott (50' with an 18lber that was arguably tougher than the 22lb Waipu stone).

Congratulations to the Hororata Games Committee, Head Judge Pat Hellier, and the Waipu Caledonian Society on a fantastic start to the season.
