Finally got my back squat up over 400 for reps.

Nine months after the little tumble I took at the Frozen Flingdown in Springfield this past march, I have been coming back very slowly on the heavy (well, heavy is relative) squats.

But, I woke up the other night thinking that i have been just kidding myself. i went back to the deep, deep, deep reps i used to do, with a three second pause at rock bottom. You know your on the bottom when your ass hits your ankles.

Naturally had to lighten up the weight. So, 325 x5 was a gut buster.

Instantly sore. Three days later still sore. Range of motion is greater, therefore theoretically the ability to generate force is greater.

The good news is that the knee held up; it still looks a little like cabbage though.

Southern boys beware of Shamrock! Take your long johns.

I have been doing the same with my front squat, long stroke on the reps, way down and up.  For some reason the front is in style with me right now.  Cheryl got me some new cold weather gear yeasterday to toss and train in.  I have Shammy on the mind right now.  Good to hear the knee is up.
