Haha.  I was not happy with how my glide was going, so I thought I would go old school (track days) and spin for a few. All were 54'-56'  I need to have a small stone that I can tuck in order  to rotate well.  Bigger stones are glide every time.  I had turf shoes on turf so they did not turn much.  Lots of technical errors being made here.

I like where your head is at.

So true about long or flat rocks, cant tuck em! My weakness.

Looks good man, I just was shocked you were going back and forth cause your glide will win stone comps 9 out of 10 times. Regardless, beast mode!

Jeff, I can go back and forth with the glide and spin.  For me, the techniques are different enough that I don't ever feel like they mess with one another.  It was kind of like the old throw the light implement far at the end of practice to make yourself feel better kind of thing.

Jake, you just have to switch back to the glide.  You can be a stone guy too.

5/16/2015

PM  HH

Pull workout I didn't write down. Can’t remember what I did. There were some band and cable rows with a rope.  Short and sweet.

I also threw a little LH, HH, HWFD, took three terrible WOB attempts at 15' and even picked a caber one time this week.  Can’t remember what days each were on.

10 min of Sheaf.  First throws with my re-bagged sheaf.  This one is a cube instead of a pillow case shape.  11.5 x 11.5 x 11.5   Hit the 30 foot rafter 6 or 7 times.  Good with that.  We get to throw a 25 lb sheaf this weekend.

My Season opens up this weekend at the Alma Highland Games.

Thanks, Tom.  Things did go well.  Cleared 3 feet higher than last year, so a good sheaf day.

Alma Highland Games

Great Games that is 45 minutes. from my house.  Holly does a great job.  Nice festival and a crowd that is there to see the the Heavy athletics.

Craig Smith, Jeremy Gillingham, Luke Crowley, John Pilling, Nate Parker - Am Demo

O Stone round 20lbs - !st  46+ Far enough for the win.

HWFD: 2nd   39’ 11’’  Had one that was better  but foot fouled.  Time to start throwing this thing further.  This was the only number I remember exactly because I have thrown it too many times.  Luke took this one.

HH: 1st  99+  Hammers are a mess right now. I knew they would be from how I have been feeling and throwing at practice.

WOB:  3rd  or 4th?   15’ Two crossbars at 16.

LWFD: 1st  76’+  Got moving on one of my throws, but didn’t let go.

Caber  55 degree?-  Got completely owned. 4th?  This was by far the most disappointing part of the day.  Doing poorly at the caber.  My R heel slipped out on my second plant.  Went for a good spill.  Luckily I was moving so the caber landed in front of me.  I tuned this caber 2x last year.  Craig showed us how it is done even with an injured arm.

25lb Sheaf: 2nd.   Much better than last year.  Was consistent and knew where my throws would go.  Had the height on 1st attempt at 26’ but went wide. Two crossbars after that.  Gilly Cleared 26' on his first attempt for the win.

Overall 1st.  (Tied Gilly for points. Won the tiebreaker by having one more 1st)

Read Nate Parker’s write up it if you haven’t.
