Games in Buffalo Mo yesterday. Had a great time and another really good HASA game.

B stone- 33.8. 2nd. Felt like I finally got a pretty good push.
O stone- 37+. 2nd. Really hesitant on this because I was worried about fouling. Was fouling a ton in practice, so not great numbers but didn't foul any of them, so fairly happy with this.
HWD- 25+. 3rd. Trig was going uphill, killing everybody's sprint phase...not that I have much of one anyway. Just 1-turned the last throw.
LWD- 55+. 2nd. Moved trigs so that was better, weight just didn't fly well. I was happy that I hit a bigger throw on my last attempt to pass 2 guys and take 2nd for the event.
Heavy Hammer- 73+. 2nd. Right after lunch, still kinda stiff.
Light Hammer- 96+. 2nd. Couldn't put speed and release together, could only do 1 or the other.
Caber- 1:30 turn on the first attempt. Freaking 5th place.
Sheaf- 26ft. 4th. Hit the bar going up at 28 which would have been a PR if it went over. Womp Womp
WOB- 11. 3rd on countbacks. Tired and no drive at this point.

Finished 2nd overall. Scott Hutchison took first, Shane Thomas took 3rd, then Doug and Dave. Good group, and got mostly above average throws. Got some rust knocked off, now time to iron some things out and get ready for Tulsa.

Went and hit the Tulsa game up Saturday. Matt Thompson always puts on a great show, and the people were awesome. Overall had a great throwing day, but was not as consistent as I need to be. 2 season bests and 1 lifetime PR, but had a couple events that just killed me. Consistency has to be there next week.

B stone- 29.2. Average. 3rd place.
Open- 38.10. Season best, and had 2 throws over 38. Really happy with this. 2nd place.
HWD- 28.3- Season best. This is getting a lot closer to what I'm throwing in practice, but still some room to move up. 4th place.
LWD- 53.8. Crap. 3rd place
Heavy Hammer- 77.4. 4 inches off my lifetime PR. 2nd place
Light Hammer- 100.10. PR, and finally broke 100. 2nd place
Caber- 50deg. 6th place. Just bad
Sheaf- 20ft. 6th place. See above
WOB- 12. Average. 4th place

Had a tough group in Tulsa and other guys hit big throws when they counted. Got 2nd place in Open on Gary's last throw, and 4th on HWD on a massive PR by Shane. Was really good competition, and really shows how important consistency is. Now time to rest up, work some technique, and get ready for the IHGF game in Mac.

265 x 2

This is pretty late, but better late than never.

IHGF Am Worlds Qualifer. Really excited to be able to get out there with these guys and throw. I knew I was in deep water going in, so the whole focus was to relax, try to move fast, and learn as much as I can.

B stone- 29.9. Was pretty happy with this as I'm not a huge fan of these stones. Really tough handles for my little hands.
Open- 35.8. See above.
HWD- 28.4. Gave up a bunch of points here. Big log jam at 27ft. Was hoping for closer to 30, just didn't get it done.
LWD- 54.4. Haven't thrown this event well all year.
HH- 70.5. Right after lunch, no bueno for me.
LH- 98.3. Was pretty happy with this.
Caber- no turn
WOB- no height.

I didn't finish like I wanted, but I learned a ton. Was an honor to get out and throw with these guys, highlight of the career so far.

Threw again the next day.

B stone- 29.8
Open- 34.3
HWD- 28.7
LWD- 54.2
HH- 70.7
LH- 89.9
Caber- 1:30?
Sheaf- 22. Felt great when I was relaxed. Tightened up and threw like crap. Should probably remember this lesson.
WOB- 12

Was really beat up physically and mentally after this weekend. Took the next week completely off, then moved into off-season training. I have 1 more comp in Springfield MO, but by starting now I can get 2 full cycles of training in before May.

Going to go Juggernaut this year. Was stronger going into this year, but I really need to work on my explosiveness. So the focus this off-season is getting stronger, but moving it quickly.

Monday 10/5
Stretch/Warm-up
6 @ 20 yard sprints
Squat
10 sets of 5 @ 270
Leg Curls
3x10
Good Morning 3x10

Tuesday
Warm-up
Sprints 6 @ 25 yards
Med Ball throws
Bench
10 sets of 5 @ 170
Dips 3x10
Lat Pulls 3x10
Then did a WOD with the wife. There were lots of pushups.

Wednesday off

Thursday
Stretch/Warm-up
Med Ball Throws
Box Jumps 3 x 6
Deads 10 sets of 5 @ 270
WOD with the wife. A bunch of burpees and overhead presses.

Weekend off, thanks OU for completely losing your mind against Texas. Stay Classy.

Got some throws in today getting ready for Ozark Mountain.
B stone x 5
Open x 6
HWD x 6
LWD x 6
HH x 1. Handle broke
LH x 6

Distances were alright. Right about average for last couple months. Just making sure the 2 week break didn't kill anything. Will squat tonight.
