    Posted: 8/05/14 at 9:01am

This is a little late in reporting, but 6 Master's World records were broken two weeks ago at the 2014 Sweetcorn Festival in Chatham Illinois.  All the implements have been weight verified and the measurements have been sent to Kevin Rogers for record keeping.

Vierra threw 59-11@ Loon, don't remember( or see SMAI recordslist) anyone throwing further...at this point just leave a blank sheroot on 40-44 records as the Miller studs will( or are capable) of setting every and all records...good job Millers

Correct.

I guess the Pros could throw it for fun and go for the record, but I can't imagine why they would.

Ok, so is it a world record because more than one class (LW, Masters) uses it? Is that the distinction?

It's an awesome throw regardless but it seems to me to be splitting hairs a little by making sure everyone class it a World Record. Only the "asterix classes" use it.

In an unrelated topic, why don't the Killer Millers just go pro and stop beating up the Unwashed? Smile

No, it's a world record because nobody has thrown a 42 farther, anywhere in the world, no matter what class.

However, since only Masters and Lightweights throw the 42, it's not a record that will be tracked on my list of world records.

I can get on board with calling it a world record. Only masters and LW are permitted to throw it. Of that distinction, that is the farthest the 42 has ever been thrown in competition. I would agree its a WR and not just a class record.
