Hey-

The dates and location for MWC 2015 St. Louis has been changed to:

25 & 26 September, 2015 at Chesterfield, MO

Its a new location and many details are still being sorted out, but I'll start taking entries on February 16th at the www.scottishmasters.org site.

I'll post the field schedule and hotel information soon.

Also -

Last year we had a total of 45 women in the MWC competition in Scotland and we split the group in 3 age divisions (40-44, 45-49 and 50+).

It was the introduction of a new division (45-49 years) and there were over a dozen women in that contest and it worked out well - after a bumpy start.

This year, we'll introduce another new division for the women - possibly even more controversial - and we'll call it a LightWeight division. The weight class will be 155lbs and under.

I'll expect to have around 6-8 athletes in that division, but if it doesn't work out then we reserve the right to adjust the weight class up or down to find around 6-8 competitors or we'll drop the whole idea in future events.

Kevin,

You know, there's a Glencoe Mo nearby Chesterfield. Sure you can't move it there? Just saying it would be kinda cool....

Will this be the year that all master's women will throw the 21# HWD/WOB, just as all the master's men throw the 42#?

Hey-

The new location for the MWC 2015 at Chesterfield, MO is on a terrace along the meandering Missouri River; very near the final miles of the Missouri as it flows into the Mississippi River at St. Louis, MO.

In fact, the terrace is a nice level strip of land in an area surrounded by the rugged uplands of the river bluffs. The terrace is so flat that its used as a small regional airport and sports complex for western suburbs of the city St. Louis.

Across the river from Chesterfield is Weldon Springs Conservation Area and the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area while on the other bluff is the Edmund Babler Park which provides hiking, forests, fishing, camping and other natural escapes to enjoy while at the Masters Gathering. Of course, if the city is where its at ... the City of St. Louis has lots to offer for everyone and its just a short drive to down to the Arch and the city center.

It looks like there are plenty of hotel options in the immediate area of Chesterfield or Weldon Springs but the local games committee is still working out details for a host hotel. Even without a host hotel, it looks like camping at the Conservation Areas is an option and the entire Western Suburbs are going to be near the new event venue.

Scottish Masters Athletics International, LLC Bobby- all previous MWC competitors are qualified and active athletes who are competing and competitive in 5 or more Highland Games.
Old enough to know better. Still too young to care.

Yes, its a Friday/Saturday event this fall.

We're planning a 4-event Friday and a 5-event Saturday for everyone ... as in:

Stones and Weights on Friday, and
Hammers, Caber, Sheaf and WOB on Saturday.

We'll do a First Pint get together on Thursday night this year.

Hey-

I've developed the MWC2015 online Entry Form for athlete entry at the ScottishMasters.org website.

If things work as planned the entry form will include the PayPal feature directly on it which will replace using the PayPal tool on the website.

Still planning for the February 16th as publishing the Entry Form on the website and taking early registrations.
