Quote Already a Who's Who...

A Who's Who of women competitors maybe.  The guys are taking their time, analyzing their "good time" savings accounts, and sorting out their options.  Either that, or they're just seein' if they can make me start sweating!

l won't!  Unhappily, l always have to turn people away!!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what "steppin' up" looks like!

Josh has just insured himself passes to the Games, lunches, a Games tee shirt, and the much coveted ring-side seat at one of the best competitions around!!

Way to go, Josh.  THANKS!!!

~ A REMlNDER OF DlFFERENCES YOU"LL FlND AT THE CLAW ~

A winged trig is used.  Stepping over the lines forming the throwing area is a foul.

Distance throws are made on AstroTurf.  This precludes the use of hammer blades.

For safety, distance throws are limited to a 60 degree sector, hammers, 40 degrees.

ln the Braemar Stone, both feet MUST remain in contact with the ground throughout the putt.  Reversing upon release is permitted.

Spinning is not permitted in the WOB (except in the Championship event).  OK in the Sheaf.

ln the Height Events, when it is 70 minutes past the scheduled start and at the beginning of the next height, the event can go into "sudden death" (one attempt per height) if the judge deems it necessary to remain on schedule.

Side judging is only done on the qualifying caber.

Borges' tie breakers are employed in every event (if needed).

I was wondering the same thing. I believe Wally said he has me as 11th right now out of the Americans which I think would mean you are ahead. My numbers will improve as soon as the Bellingham games are entered though and I have Utah this weekend too. You competing this weekend?

This is the final list.  For real!  There were a few recent Games that did NOT have their scores entered into the database and they might have swung one or two those folks that were on the Standby lists.  All scores seem to be in the d/base now so if your scores are not listed by now, l'm sorry but this list is final!!

Good luck to all!  Throw far, stay safe, and have a great time!!

While the Elite athletes are awaiting their acceptance emails, feel free to book your flights at the most economical rate.

Remember to send me a copy of your itinerary showing the cost so that a reimbursement check can be waiting for you at the Claw.

lf you have a room-mate preference, let me know that.

Throw far, throw safely, and have a great time!!

lt IS a great group, even for the Claw, especially in all of the Women's flights! The competition will indeed be awesome and lf a good time isn't had by all, then those folks that are disappointed just went about it wrong.

No!  it's WE that are sorry that we're going to miss YOU.  Your absence will be noticed.  l've got you penciled in for next year!!

lf you haven't been following this thread to see who's coming to the Claw, there's been a lot of movement on the competitor list.  People dropping out for various reasons.

l guess that it won't be final 'til the fat lady sings (O Canada, Star Spangled Banner, etc!)
