As some, but not all, know I was diagnosed with Stage IV tonsil cancer in April. Had a tonsillectomy to find the original and 3 weeks ago had a radical tonsillectomy and Neck Dissection taking 38 nodes. I know a few here don't believe in God and hey that is your choice no judgement here, but I can tell you this has been a God thing from day one.

As for as my health, Doc says we got it all. You want big margins when they take stuff out and we had HUGE margins, most exceeding what they say is curative. So I believe and so does my surgeon we got it all.

I am posting this for several reasons, first off God is great!. This experience has really humbled me and made me much more appreciative of life, family and friends. I don't have the words (and I am having a hard time typing this if you know what I mean...) to describe how much the prayers and well wishes from my Highland Games family has meant to me. Your friendship and support has really moved me and id helping me get through this.  I have a long way to go, but I don't quit, and I don't hear no bell!

If we are friends you know you have a friend for life, and I am deeply appreciative and love all of you.

Before I get off the soap box, I want to issue a public apology to Kevin Rogers. I have had an issue of going off on things I am passionate about, and Kevin didn't deserve me acting the way I did in regards to the MWC. I love what Kevin and Billy have done and appreciate all that work hard and keep the MWC going.  I do believe Kevin coming up with qualifying standards is a great thing, it makes the game more legit, and forces all who throw to get better.

God Bless.

Praying for your recovery.

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7

Hope your recovery is fast and good.  As  for god?  Who knows.  I have studied logic, philosophy and religion to some degree for 40 years.  My belief is that, faith or religion, is a personnel thing.  I would not impose my atheism on anyone else or tell others off the cuff that I am a follower of Buddhist philosophical thought and practice zazen.  I had several swollen limp nodes and was tested for Hodgkin's Lymphoma in Feb.  What they found was a very bad blood borne infection.  I work at a feed mill and some how inhaled a feed additive and got a reaction that spread from my lungs into my blood.  Buddha said life is suffering and Buddhist believe death is just a natural part of life.  Live life in the now, don't look in the rear view mirror and only look forward at the end of another day.  You will be competing again in no time.
