On Saturday I was messing around in the gym and decided to forgo some of the power lifting and just work on my arms and shoulders - like the good old days. So, anyway, I sat at the preacher curl - something I have not done  in close to a year - did a few light curls, and I noticed my right wrist felt tight. So, I increased the weight, and after 8 reps, I set the bar down and my right wrist felt like I had smashed it with a hammer. It's Sunday as I wright this and my wrist barely moves. What the hell happened?

You hurt your wrist.

Preachers have to be one of the dumbest exercises ever conceived.  Ice, ibuprofin, and don't do anything that hurts it.  You really gotta watch this, because it can take an awfully long time (months) to get over this unless you baby it.  One thing that will help is to use a wrist wrap (like many use in benching) for anything that bothers it.  BUT:  only do things that hurt if they're things you just gotta do.

Sounds like tendons to me.Preacher curls are stupid. You can overextend your elbow or perhaps maybe your wrist, especially if you haven't done them for some time.I leave them to the bodybuilders for sculpting those beach muscles.Just my 2 cents.

I will never touch that damn preacher curl again. Damn thing tried to
cripple me and just before Alma. I think Carl is behind this. He told that
bench to hurt me.

J,
What good is it to beat you when you are not 100%. I hope
you are well by Sunday, so this lightweight can put the hurtin'
on you.
Heal Up.
