I have been considering posting for quite some time instead of merely lurking.  We will see how it goes.  I bought a pair of Nike Romeleos on e-bay they should be here tomorrow. I guess that qualifies me to start a log.

Restorative after a meh heavy squat day

band walk outs front back and each side 2x6 each way
15 lb med ball x15
30 lb sand bag wall slams 3x10 each side
home made reverse hyper 50 # plus black bands 3x10
Ate like a warrior poet, Pasta and various meats with bread.

Mike all o-linemen are a breed apart and I am honored to have participated.  Once an offensive line man always an offensive lineman.  Band walk outs are just what you think walking away from the rack with band resistance, forwards, backwards whatever you like.

365 x 1 going for 3 but tweaked something in my left breast and stopped
K-bell inclines
since my breast was sore went high reps
32k x 15 x 4 each side
k-bell swing pulls
 
Not sure what to call these I stole them somewhere really works upper back in same plane as bench hits the front.  do a k-bell swing, when your arms are parallel to the floor pull the bells into your chest then let 'em fall and continue swinging
 
32k in each hand x 4 x 10
 
incline k-bell tricep extensions
16k each hand x 5 x 10

Myles, the eye is doing great. Had the retina lasers last April. Got that fixed but that surgery caused a cataract. So I got that fixed over the Christmas holiday. Well pleased with the outcome. Just another old man surgery.

Had to go to class trained in street clothes.  Session lasted about 20 minutes, balls to the wall. Light weights.

Have not posted in a while. Workouts have been sketchy at best.  I have been out of town at coaching clinics and attending learn how to teach children seminars.  tweaked my right knee so I am now kinda gimpy so last workout was somewhat south of vag.

I did not hear of a school bus hitting a weight lifter and surely that is the only thing that could have hurt one of your knees?  haha.  Was thinking today have not heard from you in a while.  Spoke to D Lyttle last night.  We need him in SC for the game.  Just cause.  I miss Standing stone and Cumberland Gap.  Dude is truly a great host.

I have not posted in a while.  I have only lifted sporadically since the masters worlds and the only throwing I have done was at Granfather Mtn. However, I have dug up 3 stumps with a shovel and am nearing completion of the new Bullstrong training facility, my new home gym. I will post photos when it is complete.

Self explanatory. First day back in a good while, and I was feeling pretty good for an old man. Had several of my boys back in town from school and such, and we decided to have a "brodown." Had many much biscuits and crazy talk, which made for a fun time all around. I definitely had some more in me, but when something pops in your ass, it usually isn't good.

I love it that Mike does a near 800# with no straps. That is some nice grip power too!

Hey Mike, find a NAS contest with real Silver Dollar boxes and you will hit 1050-1100#. I did a 900x2 off of boxes back in 2008 (and had more in the tank) and then hit a 1055# using a real setup.

He's probably not going to brag about himself Rob, so I will for him.

He pulled a 1015lbs "silver dollar" deadlift in 2004 (was the NAS record iirc), back when they used the really stiff bar and before pulling over a grand was cool.

If I'm not mistaken he then pulled an 1145lbs 18" deadlift in 2006 at NOTLD.    

He's also pulled 866lbs in a meet in 2005.

There's also rumor of a 900 triple from the floor.

Dude can pull.

Thanks Craig. That is in-freaking-credible pulling. I knew he was a monster puller...

You are probably right about his record. I set a NAS record (tied with 2 other guys) in 2006 in St. Louis with a 1040# pull iirc, but we did use a flimsy bar. I never did like that we used such a whippy bar.

When I pulled 1055# in 2008, I was already pro so I did it as a demo against the legendary Ken Brown (Silver dollar DL world record holder). The bar we used was a much stiffer bar than we used in 2006, so I feel my pull was much more legit then.

Ken went 1125# that day. Best part was Ken whispered to me "You'll take this from me one day". Well, maybe not anymore, but at one point, I may have!

Haha. Well, I am one of those who think that NAS should have kept separate records for 18" DL and SDDL. They are two different lifts.

Gentlemen, Most of what you are saying did happen in a previous life.  However, I have never pulled 900 from the floor even for a single. I am hoping to pull 800 again this year just for S & G's.  We will see.  Rob I would love to try the silver dollar dl.  Just for the cool factor.  Until then I am going to pick stuff up and set it back down.

Training has involved (gasp) some mobility work and GPP.  I actually did tweak something deep in my butt in the video.  Hurts to stand walk or sit.  The rumble roller makes it sing.  Craig I need you to voodoo floss my left glute.  Not sure how that will work.  In the meantime I have am pushing prowler and doing pulls with an Exergenie.  Got the idea from a video posted by Odd Haugen on Facebook.  I bought a couple used exergenies on Ebay.  I left the original rope in one and put a fifty footer on the other one.  Used it on my football boys the other day in conjunction with the prowler and they said the exergenie pull was worse.  I will try to post some video later.

Because we hate you soooo much Mike Baab.  Mike, I am cheap so i bought two of the 80's versions on EBAY for $65. This is about where I stay. Too heavy to move quickly. I have been 374 at my peak. Would like to cut it a little just love food too much.

To add to this Mark Rippetoe says there's nothing more functional than a 600lbs deadlift except a 700lbs deadlift.

Played in an alumni football game last night with my son Steven and my nephew, Adam. It was awesome. We crushed a couple guys right down to their souls. Never thought I would get the chance to combo block with my boy. Right now my aura hurts, worth it though. We won BTW.

Well I am still not dead. Mike, right there with you on opinion of anything defensive. Hate em. Problem is that I am now coaching d-line as well as o-line till we find another coach. Throw up in my mouth just a little bit every day.
Training is good. I am still relatively strong.Trained with the formerly Superslim Sizemore last night, good session.

Training is going well. Nice having a consistent training partner as my son has graduated from college and has come back home to coach and teach at the same school where I teach. Talked to Mike Smith today. He sounds great and is doing well and said to tell every hello.
