Hi,

Myself and 2 training partners from RI are new to Highland Games and were wondering if anyone in the RI area has implements, advice or practices throws at all so we could try the implements?

We’re doing the amateur class at the RI games on June 9th. Scott Sideleau referred me to this site and said this would be the place to go.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Nick

I was going to say ask Scott Sideleau as he is the only thrower in RI that I know of haha.

I live in NH but that doesnt help you much unfortunately.

I'll be doing a practice day some weekend in June/July. It won't help you for RI Games, but still should be some good practice. I live in Auburn,Ma, so not too far from you.

Dan, I don't think Scott set up the registration yet. Probably another week or 2 usually 4-6 weeks before comp.

Katie is in RI. My daughter and I are in South Central MA and practice when we can. Usually 1-2 Sundays a month in Northbridge MA. Happy to have new folks. I have accumulated everything except the 56# weight.

There's a number of throwers in the area, other than Katie though, you may have to have your passport up to date and venture out of RI. ha ha. I work in PVD and would be happy to cross paths for some pointers from games to gear to training.

It's really a wonderful group!

Robert-would love to practice some Sunday! Erin, Katie, Madeline and I have been trying to get together. Would love to have some regularly scheduled times!

Heart

Alas, fatherhood has shortened the time I spend on me... and I must be selfish with it.  If I get a chance to throw, it's a handful of minutes.
