So I'm just getting back into this and I have a few questions about implements...

I have some kettlebells to throw around right now.  I know they aren't as good as getting the real weights, but they are what I can afford right now.  I should be alright throwing those for a while right?

Opinions welcomed!

Yes and no. I would use them as a separate training exercise called puds. There are a bunch of pud throws you can do to help build your explosiveness. I would recommend building real weights or buying real ones to throw because the timing on the pud with a stiff short fat handle will be drastically different.

Here's a solid pud video.

I'd be apprehensive about clicking anything Jeff calls "a solid pud video." Other than that, he's spot on. I could see a kettlebell being okay for wob, but the feel and timing is drastically different when you add in links. I could see using it if you just want to do footwork drills with something in your hand though.

I took kettle bells, put on some chain and a track and field handle.
Now I have a hwt, lwt and wob. Can't be any woest than what I've
seen at games. Just get the total length right.
