just filled a burlap sack with about 150 ish pounds of sand and tied it shut. Anyone have any suggestions of how I can make use of it?

Lifting it? Running with it? putting a dress on it and taking a picture?

I know Coach Mac has mentioned some things but I can't remember any real ideas...

What the hell sport are you training for anyway? Isn't sandbag training for wrestlers and strongpeople (excuse me, "people of strength")??

150 lb is probably a little light but you could push press it.  Getting it into postion is the hard part.

You could lie on the ground rest it on your chest and try to get on your feet and the bad over your head as quickly as possible.

Hug it and do twists.

Burlap might not be a good idea once you start playing with it.Sand has a way of filtering out.I lined my bag with 3 garbage bags to avoid this. One good exerscise is the clean and press. The shifting sand adds a new dimension to the lift.

If its tough enough to throw, it would be heck of a training tool for the
Portland Stone!

I take my bag with about 150 lb and pick it up and do "high pulls" with it -
good for hammer and caber training. I hold it about knee high and then pull
it up to about my face level as quickly as possible - then just kind of guide it
back down to the ground.

Turkish getups (like what jimmymac describes) is excellent also, though I
dont think I could do them 1 handed with 150lb - but 2 handed is good
also. - do a set of 10 of those and your core muscle will be crying.

Will,

Yeah use sandbag training... I'm sure that's the ticket!  Aren't Kurt and Ryan working on "Sandbag Training for the Heavy Events?"

A general principle I lived by when I was committed to training was I never did anything Brooks Kubik advocated.

I'm sure some people are grinning ear to ear,

Shouldering that for reps will leave you hurting pretty good, but I don't know how much carryover it would have to throwing. If you want a solid midsection workout, press the bag overhead, then go for a walk. Every 3 or 4 steps unlock and relock your elbows.
