INTERESTED NEW ENGLANDERS- I HAVE BEEN ATTEMPTING TO PUT TOGETHER A HIGHLAND GAME PRE-SEASON TEST. I'VE COME UP WITH THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:  SEATED 8 LB SHOT PUT , 5 HOPS FOR DISTANCE ,  BALL DROP REACTION DRILL ,  STANDING WT (56) FOR DISTANCE , STATIC VERTICAL FOR HT.,1 ARM PUD THROW ( HAMMER STYLE) FOR DISTANCE , 1 AGILITY RUN AND PLANK HOLD FOR TIME .  MYFEELING IS , IT WILL GIVE A BASE LINE TO SEE HOW EFFECTIVE YOUR OFF SEASON TRAINING HAS GONE,  UPON RE-TESTING IN THE SPRING.

I'LL ADD A FLEX TEST FOR SHOULDERS AND HIPS TO CONCLUDE.

Sounds great.  When and were would you have this test?  I am mostly impressed that Don posted on the NASGA board.  Welcome to the "Computer Age", Hollywood.

What's funny is that I looked at the list of tests and said, "Gee, that looks just like something Hollywood would suggest," but it never occurred to me that he actually POSTED on NASGA.

YES WAYNE, IT'S BEEN HARD TO PENETRATE THE INNER WORKINGS OF CAMP STEWART, AND MY OLD EASTERN EUROPEAN TRAINING ROOTS. I'D LIKE TO DO IT SOME SAT/SUN. @ THE STEWART'S , BEFORE THE BIG FREEZE .  PASS THE WORD , ALL INVITIED. PNONE 508/528/7507  E-MAIL mailto:jdstewart7@msn - jdstewart7@msn .

ANYTHING YOU MAY WANT TO ADD OR SUBSTITUTE, e.g. stand 56 for 16 lb shot for dist. front or back, or the ball drop reaction for the knee to foot reactive test. JUST WANT TO AVOID THE HEAVEY WT RM TESTING .  BUT AN OLD FAVORITE IS THE 20 SECOND SQUAT WITH YOUR BODY WT. ON THE BAR - 10 SEC .DOWN 10 SEC UP.  MOST RUSSIAN FIGURE SKATERS CAN DO THIS FOR 5 REPS

HOLLYWOOD OUT, IT'S NOW 17'/20'

I'm in. Objective, semi-annual assessment of functional athleticism is highly underrated and extremely useful. I loved doing the http://www.brianmac.demon.co.uk/quad.htm - Quadrathlon in fall and spring for almost a decade. A few years ago my athletes and I enjoyed Gorski's http://www.intrex.net/klubkeihas/articles/article10/article10.htm - Javelin Performance Prediction Test - 17/20's sounds great to me!
