2/25/14 Basement Squat 5 sets of 8 at 230#. Easy peasy but damn, they tire me out. 2/27/14 Basement Bench 5 sets of 8 at 120#. Geez that sounds soooo wimpy. Cuz it is... 3/1/14 Gym Night pump Deads 5 sets of 8 at 245# while Luke got hit on by a muscle bear. Push Press 5 sets of 8 at 95#. My form for is actually coming around, hoping to see a little translation in my throws this year. Aaaand if it gets above zero, throwing puds later today. |

It's 48.4 degrees in Tosa right meow. It seems everyone is just standing around not knowing how to act. Some are still shivering, kinda like the Polar Vortex DT's. Happy throwing ![]() jp

Daylight savings time is the best. And it's finally warm enough to throw without having small body parts fall off!!! 3/9/14 Threw weights and light hammer with a couple power throws off. best heavy was 34', best light was 61'. Hammer 71'. Not great, but off concrete and really 2nd time doing full throws since FL. 3/10/14 DL 5x155 3x225 3x255 8x270 8x270 8x270 Fyi thats a crap-ton of reps. I'm suuper tired. And my blood sugar just dropped like it's hot. Imma go eat again now. |

Transitioning back to WI after the phoenix games was rough, snow falling as we exited the airport... So not cool, Mother Nature. All in all, I had a decent games, but the competition did not let up the whole day. Gotta work on hammers and weights. and stones. and caber :o] No matter what, it's a well-run games in warm weather when I'm itching to take off my snow boots, and Luke finally got to come too! We will be back! Back into lifting: 3/26/14 Max out reps for Deads and Push Press Deads: 5x155 5x205 3x255 2x275 9x305 Push Press 5x65 (acually started doing strict press cuz it was so light and I wasn't thinking straight after deads) 5x75 3x95 1x110 8x120 3/29/14 Late night squat night Forgot belt, knee sleeves, and SHOES on the doorknob of the house, so I lifted in shoes, then barefoot. Thought to myself "240's not that much, it'll be fine." It would be. Missing a couple of throwing and lifting days, but we'll just pick up with today 4/16/14: Sheaf tossin' in the backyard, 20ish throws. Mix of spin2win and stands. Very sore from push press yesterday and a long day of work, so things were stiff and legs weren't responding very well. But the spin is a good warmup and requires a lot less effort. It's a challenge. I like it. Dead Lift workout: 5x155 5x205 2x245 2x275 5x295 5x295 5x295 5x295 And then tried dominating trivia night... and failed :o] |

Recovery Week... Trying to throw around some heavy stuff without getting too sore.
Pre bunny bench workout 4/19/14 Warmed up to 135 2x155 2x165 1x170 1x175 1x180 My bench usually falls apart, so this is actually really good for me. A week earlier things started clicking. Only took 10+ years :o] Finished up with 3 sets of pull ups. Woo. Post Bunny workout 4/21/14 Squats Warm up to 225 2x245 2x255 2x265 2x275 2x295 Basically working on depth and transitioning well out of the hole. Felt great! Push press to come... |

5+ Rep Max out on squat: Warm up to 225 3x245 2x275 6x295 (max reps) Then did something silly. Tore up my VMOs on front squats 3 sets of 5x135 A2G. Couldn't bend my knees for 4 days. 5/2/14 5+ Reps Max on Dead Lift Warm up to 225 5x245 3x275 1x295 1x315 1x325 *belt came loose, had to do a re-do 8x325 Blood sugar dropped. Planned on doing max out push press buuut shoulder was hurting and was wiped. Now I'm super tired. Goodnight. |

DEADS Warm up 5's to 245# 3x285 2x317 1x317 0x335... ass was all snooty and stuck up in the air. Redo didn't go any better, just made some things that didn't feel great when I started even less great. Not my best showing. Yes Luke, you were right. Shoulda taken this workout to the gym. |
