I can throw a 20lb stone as far or farther than I can throw an 18lb stone? Is it indicative of anything, really? I think that I need to be more explosive, and move the stone faster.

Yeah, it pretty much means that you need to be more explosive and move the stone faster.  Seriously, it's called an explosiveness deficit, and you overcome it by stressing speed/acceleration, rather than weight in your training.

Ideally, you should be able to put an 18# stone 11% further than a 20# stone (20/18 x your 20# distance), and a 16# stone some degree further.  I don't know if anyone has zero explosiveness deficit, though, so you probably won't put a 16# stone the ideal 25% further than a 20# stone by the same technique.  A realistic target is a few percent shortfall on the lighter stone.  This also goes for LWFD vs HWFD and light vs heavy hammers.

Cool. Thanks for the info.

Yesterday, I was discussing how I need to change my training. As I've stated before, I'm a powerlifter that throws. As a powerlifter, I don't do as much explosive training as I should to be a better thrower. Dynamic effort never did anything for me in my lifting, so I don't use it. I think I could change up my training for a little while before the games to work on being more explosive.
