Give me to Sept 9th. I had to add a week to my cycle due to tweeking the back twice in a row.
I heard the call.
I will do it.

I hit 470 for 10+1+1+1 last night. The +'s equal up to about 30seconds of breathing and rechalking hands.. kinda like restpause, i guess.
I love deadlifts

A lot of powerlifters consider rest under 1 minute as the same set.

I'm okay with that.. lol.. I was breathin hard. 10 reps isn't supposed to make one breathe that hard, I don't think. It shamed me into doing some cardio this morning.

DL isn't aerobic, but it most certainly is cardio.

Alaska, you should be pulling 600 by Sept 1st.
Strong pulling my fellow Deadhead!

I will do one more wave of 531 after this one, which will have me pulling 505 for max reps. Instead of deloading the week after, I'm gonna wait 10 days and pull a single rep max. I'm going to be doing Smolov for my squats, so I won't get a chance to pull heavy again after that until the end of Sept/beginning of Oct.
My goal for next month is to pull 610ish.

Did Deads with thick Green Bands on Wednesday, still sore as hell.
warmed up with couple of sets with 185 no bands, then started with the bands at 225.
Built up to 315 with bands set for a tension point of mid-shin for 1 this week (got 3 last week). Admittedly very cautious after tweeking my back last time.
I assume the thick green bands add 300lbs of pressure/weight, LOL. That would be great if true. I really have no idea how much weight they add, just know it is tough.
Then I loosed the bands and got a triple, tension point around the knee.
Took the bands off to see and got 5 relatively easy, bands add A LOT of tension, lol.
Rack Deads for the next 2 weeks and then its de-load in anticipation for a new PR attempt on the 11th.

So, looks like I won't be pulling 600 this month. I've decided to go a different route with my training in order to peak for my meet on Oct 30th. I will be punishing myself with some good ol' Russian programming.
First up is Sheiko 37, then I'll move on to 30 and finish up with #32. With 32, I get to do a skill eval in the first week, so I'll pull 600+ then.

I pulled 500lb at a strongman contest from 16" does that count?
No, it doesn't... but I have good confidence I can do it soon. I am not going
to pull heavy until after New Hampshire games in mid September, but then I
will be back at it.

great to hear, I'm sure when you get to it, you'll make it happen. GL in Maine.
Just started back to pulling heavy myself, I've been on the DL sidelines for about 3 months due to a ruptured achilles, but now that all the kings horses and all the kings men have done their work, I'm finally starting back at it on the heavy side.
made 418 feel kinda lite the other day, just trying to get my bearings, and get a number to work from. Looking forward to getting back to where I was.......and then some.

HA! Love it.
The metric system makes too much sense, thats probably why I dont use it. I mean......everything divisible by 10? What fun is that?
I'm just a sucker for percents, thats how I figure out my numbers. If the sheet tells me to but an extra set of collars on.....I do it, even if it looks silly.
Gains are Gains and I'll take what I can get.

I will bite. My goal at the beginning of this thread was to pull 500. Welllll, haven't done it yet (got it to my knees and didn't finish, twice ) but am still trying.
Had a set-back recently when an idiot mis-spotted me on DB inclindes and tweaked the crap out of my back. I just got back from the Dr and was told that I inflamed some bulging disks
in my back (been bulging for a year now I also found out). I get an MRI
next Wed and then (hopefully) on Friday get some shots in the spine to
reduce the swelling on my nerves, which is giving me the pain I had at
the gym for the last 3 weeks.
I am still hoping to pull 500 on 9/11, which was my target date I had been peaking for but the forecast is cloudy. May have to do another b-day 500 pull. I will not stop till I stand up with 5 hunny in my hands. I am the Terminator of Deadlifts...well, a smaller weaker version but with the same resolve. I will not stop.
Perhaps a T350?.......

I was a miserable failure at the gym last nite. Could even DL something I hit 2 weeks ago with ease.
Took all last week off, was thinking that after 6 or so heavy weeks it would be a big help. And I think it would've, however while on vacation a short hike turned into and off trail scramble, setting up camp on a rock, 3 hours of sleep followed by another 5 hour hike to get out.
Had zero pop last nite in any movement.
I think that hike may have something to do with it, now I feel like I need a rest from my rest......thoughts?

You just trained on a lower point of the apex.. no biggy. The important thing is the strain. The strain builds the strength.
Tonight, I have 18 sets of pulls. I start with pulls to the knees, then I bench for 15 sets, then I do some rackpulls from the knees.. Jolly good time for my posterior chain tonight.

sorry, what I meant to type was... is that along the lines of what you posted towards the top of the page, lots of sets of 1
like this:
I hit 470 for 10+1+1+1 last night. The +'s equal up to about
30seconds of breathing and rechalking hands.. kinda like restpause, i
guess.

I would too if I deadlifted 470 that many times. Well done Vonguiness, well
done indeed.
Deadlifts love you.
